4 ITU Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics members in the World’s Most Influential Scientists List

While 1,150 scientists from Turkey were included in the list of the most influential scientists in the world, created every year by scientists from Stanford University, 50 names from ITU were included. ITU ranked first among the Turkish universities that entered the list.

New Mission from NATO to Our Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Melike Nikbay

Prof. Dr. Melike Nikbay from the Department of Astronautical Engineering was elected as the chairman of the NATO Science and Technology Organization (STO) Applied Vehicle Technologies (AVT) Panel Support Committee. Prof. Dr. Melike Nikbay will continue her duty for two years until the end of 2023.

Our Ph.D. Student Mehmet Kahraman Received Best Paper Award

ITU Graduate School Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering Ph.D. Program student Mehmet Kahraman’s paper presentation on hybrid rocket engines was awarded by American Institute of Aeronautics and Aerospace (AIAA), one of the world’s leading aerospace societies. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Özkol from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arif Karabeyoğlu from Koç University also contributed to the paper.

ITU and TİM Develop Domestic Solar Panels for Cube Satellites

Studies for “Multifunctional Solar Panels in Nano, Micro and Cube Satellites R&D Project” launched by Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) in March in order to contribute to Turkey’s “National Space Program” continue at full speed. The current state of the project carried out at ITU Space Systems Design and Test Laboratory under the coordination of İnovaTİM was shared with the public in a press conference held at ITU Rectorate.
