In this meaningful gathering that took place at ITU FAA – MED-C / CZA3 on November 25, 2025, Gökhan Erdem shared with us not only the technical details of his journey into space but also his inspiring personal experiences and his perspective on Earth from space. His insights instilled courage and vision in future scientists, engineers, and all young minds.

Mr. Muhterem Özgür Kızılkaya, Fixed-Wing Product Strategy Manager, and Mr. Taner Ertuğrul, Lead Mechanical Design Engineer from TİTRA Technology, visited our faculty to evaluate potential project topics and to initiate university–industry collaboration activities. Within the scope of the visit, a productive exchange of ideas was held with Prof. Dr. Zahit Mecitoğlu and our faculty members.

As the Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, we paid a visit to the ALTINAY Technology Group on November 13, 2025. ITU ARC Leads Regio-AIRMOB CoVE within AIRMOB Project

Under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Emre Koyuncu, a faculty member at ITU Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Deputy Director of ITU Aviation and Space Technologies Application and Research Center, ITU ARC has undertaken the Türkiye country representation for the project titled "AIRMOB: Developing Skills and Capabilities for Innovative Air Mobility." This project has been awarded funding totaling 3,983,463.84 Euros with 21 partners from 5 countries, under the ERASMUS-EDU-2024-PEX-COVE call.

The 19th annual Industry Advisory Board meeting of the Aeronautical Engineering and Astronautical Engineering Departments was held on May 9, 2025, at ITU Suleyman Demirel Culture Center, Senate Room. This meeting aims to foster closer cooperation with the industry.

Professor Anya R. Jones' Seminar Series

ITU Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics hosted Professor Anya R. Jones from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as part of the The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) 2221 Visiting Scientist Grant Program. Drawing on her expertise in aeronautics and experimental aerodynamics, Professor Jones delivered a comprehensive seminar series consisting of four sessions.

ITU and University of Manchester Collaborate on Innovative 3D Printing Project for Wind Energy

Istanbul Technical University and the University of Manchester have joined forces on a groundbreaking international project titled, "3-D printing based innovative repair of recyclable turbine blades while fostering gender equality and sustainability in Türkiye's wind energy sector." This significant initiative is proudly supported by the British Council – International Science Partnerships Fund.
