“Best Paper” Award to ITU’s Academic and Students from NATO STO

The article written by an international team including ITU Department of Astronautical Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Melike Nikbay and her students Enes Çakmak and Şıhmehmet Yıldız was awarded “Best Paper” award in the NATO STO AVT 51st Panel Business Meeting held in London on 25 May 2023.

Istanbul Technical University (ITU) is transforming the future with its international collaborations and scientific achievements on the way to redefining engineering. The article by the international team, including ITU Department of Astronautical Engineering faculty member Prof. Dr. Melike Nikbay and her students Enes Çakmak and Şıhmehmet Yıldız from ITU AeroMDO Laboratory as co-authors, won an important award.

The research article prepared within the scope of NATO STO AVT-331 and AVT-354 studies and written by a joint team of US Air Force Research Laboratory, University of Dayton and ITU AeroMDO Laboratory is entitled “Comparison of Multi-Fidelity Optimization Methods using an Aero-Structural Benchmark Problem”.

The research article was awarded “Best Paper” award in the NATO Science and Technology Organization (STO) Applied Vehicle Technologies (AVT) 51st Panel Business Meeting held in London on 25 May 2023.
