ITU AeroMDO Lab researchers, Prof. Dr. Melike Nikbay, Sihmehmet Yildiz, Berkay Pirlepeli, Dr. Pranesh Chandrasekaran, and Ramazan Kaba attended AeroBest 2025 conference: III ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on Multidisciplinary Design Optimization of Aerospace Systems, held from April 22–24, 2025 at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) of the Universidade de Lisboa. A keynote lecture titled "Leveraging Multi-Fidelity Surrogates for Advanced Computational Design and Multidisciplinary Design Optimization in Aerospace Engineering" was presented by Prof. Dr. Melike Nikbay following the opening ceremony.
ITU AeroMDO Lab researchers presented 7 research papers covering topics such as "Multi-fidelity Bayesian Optimization, Surrogate Modeling, High Aspect Ratio Wings, Folding Wing Tips, UCAV Design, Deep Learning and Aeroacoustic Simulations". We engaged with many esteemed colleagues and experts and enjoyed fruitful discussions on the Multidisciplinary Design Optimization of Aerospace Systems. We would like to thank to Prof Afzal Suleman and Prof André Marta for organizing such a successful conference and their hospitality in beautiful Lisbon. We are already looking forward to the next AeroBest 2027.
