The Istanbul Technical University Aviation and Space Technologies Application and Research Center (ITU ARC) is participating for the first time in a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) project, as part of the AIRMOB (Developing Skills and Capabilities for Innovative Air Mobility) project, supported by the European Union Erasmus+ Program. The project, which will be carried out with five regional CoVE structures consisting of Portugal, Spain, Italy, Türkiye, and Ireland, aims to develop the talents and skills needed in the Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) sector and to lay the groundwork for new emerging professions.

The AIRMOB project aims to develop high-quality vocational training programs aligned with sectoral needs by bringing together key stakeholders such as vocational education providers, universities, industry representatives, service and technology providers, regulatory bodies, and public authorities.
ITU ARC has taken on the Türkiye leadership in the AIRMOB project. The relevant team will be led by Prof. Dr. Hülya Cebeci and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emre Koyuncu, both faculty members at the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics, along with Dr. İpek Ösken, Director of the ITU ARC Project Management Office. Within the scope of the project, ITU ARC is undertaking strategic planning activities such as mapping the IAM (Innovative Air Mobility) ecosystem in Türkiye, conducting sectoral analyses, and creating a transformation roadmap.
