Under the supervision of our esteemed faculty member Prof. Dr. İbrahim ÖZKOL, the ITU Lagari Thrust Rocket Team achieved outstanding success at IREC 2025—the world’s most comprehensive international competition in the field of rocket engineering—held in Texas between June 9–14, 2025.

Our students made history in the competition by executing their launch with a 0% margin of error—a first in the event’s history. The team also achieved a second record by precisely reaching the target altitude of 10,000 feet with 100% accuracy. With this remarkable success, the Lagari Thrust Team was honored with the James Barrowman Award for Flight Dynamics.

Additionally, the team secured second place worldwide in their category, earning the 10K Commercial Off The Shelf Second Place award.

We wholeheartedly congratulate our team and wish them continued success.
