‘AEROMET Summit’ organised by ITU METAR brought together the interested parties of the field on 20 March 2024 at ITU Ayazağa Campus SDKM.

The 2024 AEROMET Summit, organised by Istanbul Technical University, Meteorological Research Club (ITU METAR), was held on 20 March 2024 at ITU Ayazağa Campus, Süleyman Demirel Cultural Centre. The summit, which focused on the concepts of meteorology, aviation and sustainability, included presentations by experts on current issues in the field.

At the opening of the programme, Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Koyuncu pointed out that meteorology is a field prone to multi-disciplinary academic studies and emphasised the importance of the summit organised for this academic field, which intersects with many scientific agenda items from energy to aviation, climate to air pollution.

The day-long event ended with visits to the stands where leading companies operating in areas such as weather forecasting and detection, thermal insulation systems, civil aviation shared information about the field.
